Perpetuum Jazzile

Photo taken from its official website

PERPETUUM  JAZZILE
- A  Group from Slovenia -

Do you know that group?

To tell you the truth,
I didn't know them until today
(thanks to Miguel, a friend of mine).
Perhaps you dodn't know them either.
And that's the reason of this post.
In my opinion, it is worth listening to them.
 They are really good !

Watch the following video
and try to translate the lyrics of the song
into Spanish -if possible.

 ;-)

The video is a proof that...
nearly every kind of music can be sung!
Don't you think so?

The group has a website, where you can read:
"The stage is our canvas,
we paint with our voices,
we blend and combine them
into masterpieces.
Happy faces drive us forward
and reassure us
that what we do,
we do with all our heart and devotion."
                                             Nice, isn´t it?

After a concert of  Perpetuum Jazzile somebody said:
“Perpetuum Jazzile is a vocal group in which music is actually the only thing
the singers take seriously.”
Well, there is some truth to that… but there is more...
Powerful rhythms, rich harmonies and energetic sounds
are what they love to make and give to the audience through "a cappella" songs.

It seems that ...
Friendship is what connects them;
and music is what they live for.

A nice thought for these difficult times.

And just to finish,
let's take a reflection from them ...

"Who needs instruments when we have voices?"

"Los Reyes",
A Spanish Tradition

On the 6th of January each year, Spain celebrates the end of Christmas
with a great party where everybody gives and receives presents.
It is the arrival of "The Three Wise Men"

It is a happy day because everybody enjoys opening their presents.

NEW YEAR'S PROMISES

Most people start the new year
with one (or more) of the following three wishes in mind:

STOP SMOKING
LOSE WEIGHT
or
LEARN ENGLISH

I am afraid I cannot do much about the two first promises.
(Sorry about that!)
But if your wish is connected with studying or improving your English,
"English@Edrissis" has also a wish related to YOU
for this New Year ...
... To be useful -in some way- to you.

Keeping in mind that idea,
Let's start 2013
with a traditional song,
"Auld Lang Syne",
that many people sing in the UK and USA
to celebrate the end of one year
and the arrival of a new one.

It is an old traditional song,
written by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns,
in the Scottish dialect.

Its original title (in Scottish): "Auld Lang Syne",
could be translated into English as:
"Old long since",
and into Spanish as
"Por los Viejos Tiempos".

Here you are a modern version of "Auld Lang Syne",
performed by the soprano Sissel
(considered "The Golden Voice from Norway").

I hope you like it!
 Enjoy the voice!

a Very Happy New Year 2013 !
